The Gig on the Rec for the Rec is back for 2023 featuring Not the Rolling Stones.

Music from Not the Rolling Stones and Retrosonic as well as as a bar and a variety of food stalls from 6pm until 10pm. All proceeds to the Claygate Recreation Ground Trust.

We are all very excited about the Claygate Flower & Village Show this year. We trust you are too! Not only is it the 120th year of the show but we are also celebrating the Coronation. There will be plenty of things around the grounds to reflect this including items within our Grand Exhibition Marquee.

For 2023 the long standing course has been improved by avoiding the short section on the main road (Copsem Lane), as well as the narrow path from the road, and the car park. The course now takes full advantage of the pathways of Arbrook Common to provide a beautiful run through the woods of Claygate. The final section is unchanged, and overall the course maintains the same trail / road balance as in previous years.

2023 will also feature chip to chip timing for the first time to ensure every participant gets an accurate time over the 5 mile course.

Celebrate the Coronation of Charles III on the Claygate Rec on Saturday 6th May. Join us from 3pm until 6pm for food and music and fun and games

Football Competition

The event will feature a football competition for local children. There will be 5 a-side for U6-8s (Year 1-3), and 7 a-side for U9-10 (Year 4-5). All teams preferably with a mix of boys and girls.

We are now looking for children who might be interested in playing, or parents who can get a team together from their street/surrounding streets.

The official opening of Claygate Pavilion and the Recreation Ground Family Garden will take place on Sunday, 24th April. Fun activities for the kids and a variety of food available. Live entertainment provided by KT Tenuto, Claygate Primary School, Rowan Preparatory School , Ray Lowe and the Foley Unknowns

Local Claygate artist Richard Knight (www.richardknight.art) will reveal his newly created artwork which will take pride of place as a permanent painting in The Claygate Pavilion. Everyone is invited to see the new artwork and to hear Richard talk about the work which is a visual representation of life on The Rec.
